The "9/11 Happened on Bush's Watch" Mantra Is Gaining Traction
Edited on Thu Mar-04-04 07:23 PM by stopbush
I've heard it all day on the media, most recently on Hardball with a couple of widows from the WTC attack.

This is great. I hope the anti-bush forces keep it up!

1. Monica Gabrielle kicked holy ass
Her point: It's wrong to use images of 9/11 and associate them with leadership when you won't even help the 9/11 Commission get to the bottom of what happened that day.

Pretty fucking simple, isn't it?

3. Good.
Why didn't this happen sooner? Like when 9/11 happened. I know I shouldn't dwell on the past but I think it is a legitimate question.

8. Shockwave
The collective mindset of the country was shock, followed by anger. At that point most just wanted to retaliate rather than get to the bottom of what actually happened. It some respects, it was like the Kennedy assassination, but this time the fall guy was conveniently a bearded Muslim man. (Ooh Boy, a crusade!)

The truth about 9/11, whatever it is, will likely never come out. The string pullers may kick a few bodies over the side for the rabble, but nothing of any great consequence will come of it. For them most part, Americans want to live in self-delusion.

And the band played on.

God Bless America... :eyes:

5. WRONGLY: Clinton blamed, and Gore implied incompetent.
Aren't you glad Gore wasn't president with this happening? I was asked.

I said, you mean Al Gore, the guy who wrote the book on anti-terrorism. Instead...
Bush the guy who ignored the bipartisan terrorism report and wouldn't attend European anti-terrorism conference.
Bush who still won't turn over his daily briefing (8/20/01) to 9/11 investigators.
Bush who called Dems to stop an investigation of 9/11.
Bush who held up investigation, then reluctantly allowed it.
Bush who underfunded the investigation
Bush who picked Kissenger to head it
Bush who got 60% vote needed to subpeona
Bush who made certain Democrats could not get a 60% vote w/o a Repub
Bush who made sure WHICH Republicans comprised 50%
Bush who WILL NOT testify to the investigators.
Bush who WILL NOT even talk to ALL 12 investigators
Bush whose NSA WILL NOT testify
Bush whose NSA didn't know about planes flying into buildings
Bush whose NSA forgot about planes flying into buildings from two months earlier, and from '95 as she was told.
Bush who has a NSA that forgets.
Bush who gave bonuses to people who failed to see 9/11 coming by denying agents access to confiscated computers.
Bush who called off the death order on OBL Clinton ordered.
Bush who joked about Clinton trying to kill OBL as trying to hit a tent in the desert, or a camel in the butt during the campaign.
VERSUS...
Clinton who arranged a secret pact with Uzbeckistan to Afghanistan's north that came in very handy for our attack.
Clinton who froze hundreds of millions of OBL's money.

By this time they won't be able to talk for hours, but their eyes glazed over after two lines.

But, it makes me feel good to get it out.

10. Bush has agreed to testify for the committee ...???
There is a story in the Boston Globe today about the 9/11 widows' complaints. At the bottom of the story, it says "Bush has agreed to testify for the committee but has insisted that strict conditions be met before he does so." He DID????? When was that???

12. Bush would only TALK before TWO commission members.
Meaning that Bush suggests that he wants to talk (not testify, not under oath), to two commissioners (not all of them).

Bush who WILL NOT testify to the investigators.
Bush who WILL NOT even talk to ALL 12 investigators.

I don't know if it happened yet. It's still not good enough.

15. I guess only a president...
gets to set "strict conditions" for testifying before an investigative committee. We little people would be lucky to be able to name time for a bathroom break, much less set conditions for testifying. Unless Bush opens up, he will forever have the cloud of doubt above his head. Transparency. Transparency. Transparency. It's a word for the Bushies to look up in the dictionary....

6. Monica Gabrielle spoke the truth. Matthews however ,is
back to being a Bush ass sucker. He praised those FUCKING ads like they were the best thing he had ever seen. Meanwhile, he totally dostorted the meaning behind the MOVEON ad of Bush fighting to take away overtime pay for 8 million workers. HE DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU!!!! He is a GOP Bush ass sucker, who pretends to be a Democrat.

11. Good!
That's the first thing that should come out of any Dem's mouth. If Georgie is going to run those ads, everyone needs to be reminded that it happened while he was, supposedly, in charge.

He has to be made to take the brickbats if he wants to bask in receiving kudos.

13. Talking a out Lack of A Leader

I found this on DU, it is one of the most powerful examples of the leaderless country that we live in...

I have played it over and over and still can't believe my eyes.

It is what Bush did/didn't do on nine eleven....

14. This NYTimes letter says it all...
To the Editor:

Re "Bush Ad Campaign Ready to Kick Off an Expensive Effort" (front page, March 4):

It continues to baffle me that the Republican Party insists on reminding the American people over and over again that George W. Bush's administration is responsible for the greatest security failure in the history of the United States.
