Gov. Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania, on Howard Dean
"He's the only Democrat who can keep pace with Bush financially. And he wears well. He's not flashy or slick. He gives you direct answers to questions. He has the potential to be our strongest candidate."

2. Ed Rendell encouraged Gore to step down
Thanks to his coaching, Bush is in the White House. Now, it seems he wants to keep Bush for another four years.

7. Hey, MN's services are ranked higher than VT
and we've been run by REPUBLICANS for the last decade an a half.

Sorry, that doesn't wash.

8. Sorry I used to work on his campaign
I am still angry at myself for being so stupid as to back him. I am also very much ashamed. But I was posting here about Ed Rendell. So my position on Dean is irrelevant.

6. Wow, this is getting old
Anyone who publicly supports Dean is now secretly trying to get Bush re-elected?

Even though his approval is slipping, Bush still has the support of nearly HALF of the voters in this country. This concerns me. It also concerns me that some here want to tear down a candidate who has mobilized and excited so many people. I just don't get that.

9. they have their candidates, who aren't
doing well, to support by tearing down DEan! And Dean is doing so well that it's driving them to distraction. That's my take on it, anyway.

13. That was AFTER the Supreme Court ruling
At that point, that was really Gore's only option.

11. I swear that if Jesus Christ endorsed Dean
people here would dismiss him as a religious nutjob who was insufficiently tough on the Romans.

12. Nah
but why would Jesus endorse anyone would be my question. Genius is just being how is about Dean, you know that. Congrads on the endorsement, I should have given it earlier.

18. Jesus opposed most of Dean's stances: such as supporting rich over poor
Dean's opporession of the poor and needy by cutting funds for public defenders and the mentally disabled in Vermont. Dean's support of revenge killing (the death penalty). Dean's support of the rich by giving breaks to corporations in Vermont through cutting services to the poor. The list of Dean's support for killing, for rich over poor, is almost endless. And of course he isn't willing to get rid of rich tax breaks without getting rid of lower and middle class tax cuts and increasing the taxes on the middle class.

14. Dean "wears well"?
That's the numbest thing I've heard the whole campaign so far. I mean unless you like shit on your face.

and Rendell is absolutely right. Dean is down to earth, honest and without pretensions.
