Dean is the anti-Gephardt persona. No smiles or pats on the back--let's get down to business.

I love it.

6. I thought these were supposed to be negative?
Edited on Thu Oct-23-03 11:25 PM by jeter
Jesus. Barbara Bush on Larry King Live was more negative than that.

Anyway, I liked the Iowa ad better than the New Hampshire ad. I opposed the war too. But he can't keep harping on the fact that he, and only he was right and everyone else was wrong. Remember that the majority of Americans supported the war, too. They don't want to be told that they were wrong. He has credibility on the issue. Now he must build a bigger alliance. My criticism of Dean has always been about that. Not that he was wrong on Iraq. It's that he seems to be relaying these messages to the same people who already support him, rather than building onto his base.

That's why I think he's lost his mojo.

after all, if Kerry & Edwards & Gephardt are Bush-Lite, he should be referred to as no less than Bush-Medium.

11. The horrors
Those ads were so negative I had to take a shower in boiling water before I could clean the slime off me. The way he named his opponents and called them vile. Gee how harsh could he be? That is it, I can't deal with the negativity.

15. With the N.H. ad, Dean seems to be pinning his whole strategy on Iraq
I have to question the wisdom of this. He's putting himself, (and Democrats), in the position of almost hoping that the situation there stays terrible and doesn't improve. Also, at what point does "opposing" the war translate into "opposing" our troops? This is surely the spin the Bush campaign will put on it. This sort of rhetoric may help Dean get the nomination, but I believe it will hurt him, and badly, in a national campaign.

16. I think this is in response
to his toughest competition there Kerry, The main thing holding kerry back imho is his support for IWR. Had he not made that vote I think he would probably be much more competative than he is now. In NH kerry is the main ciompetition, hence the Iraq add. In Iowa its ghep hence the health care add.

These adds are targeting his main competitions weaknesses nothing more.

They are hardly definining all of his policies. plenty of time between now and november next year to get all of your policies on the table. the important thing is to win all the little battles between now and then.

These adds are attempts to take the battle to his main oponents in said states. If they work or not remains to be seen.
