| Do endorsements of Presidential candidates matter? |
|
If a congressional candidate endorses someone you don't like or repsect, will you vote against that candidate? Are you more likely to vote for the candidate if he or she endorses your fav?

if I don't really know much about the race. For offices where I have done my own research I follow my own thoughts.

i think endorsements mostly help when it comes to close elections. if two candidates were running close and a very popular politician such as governor, senator, or whoever endorsed one of them, it would probably give them a little push to victory. they also help in getting attention to a candidate. especially if they are large organizations like sierra club, or unions who work hard to campaign on behalf of their candidates and help try to get votes out on election day. for people like us it wont matter much. but it's mostly for those who aren't very involved in politics but still vote and feel strongly about certain issues. and i personally wont be against anyone just because they endorsed someone who was not my choice for presidential candidate. cruz bustamante endorsed joe lieberman and heads his campaign in california. i sure wont vote for arnold because of it, or do anything that could help arnold.

| 4. If they're by superdelegates, yes. |

Since that means electors for the candidate at the convention.

If a bunch of environmental groups endorse a candidate (or refuse to endorse him once in all his years of Governorship), it begins to paint a picture.
I won't make judgements based on endorsements, but if, say, a writer I really respect stands behind my judgment, I feel a whole lot better about it.

| 7. are you referring to the Sierra club? |

if so I see no governors listed as endorsed in 2002. I find that hard to believe to say the least so I emailed them. In the mean time do you care to provide a link?
