SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - At least 80 people, including "Terminator" actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, columnist Arianna Huffington, and someone who said he was registering just for the thrill of seeing his name on the ballot, had officially joined the race for California governor when the deadline passed Saturday.

According to the Sec. of State site, 504 have taken out papers, with 48 completed and 451 pending.

3. The length of the ballot

What I want to know is how the voters are expected to wade through all of those names, 90% of which they wouldn't have heard of? I know CA voters have experience with long ballots, with that state's liberal use of initiatives and referenda, but still...
