Slate: The Worldviews Of Kerry And Dean
After communism collapsed, American voters lost interest in defense and foreign policy. But those subjects can consume most of a president's time, and 9/11 returned them to the forefront. It's difficult to anticipate which hot spots a candidate would have to deal with as president, but it's possible to get a sense of how he approaches war, diplomacy, trade, and other challenges abroad. This series pieces together a picture of each candidate's instincts based on his words and his record.

1. Kind of thin
I would have preferred an in depth interview with the candidates instead of these very short pieces. I also think the bias of the reporter shows throw in the Dean piece. For example the use of claims instead of says "Dean claims to have supported every use of military force between 1974 and the Second Gulf War". Mr. Salateen should either stop writing about Dean or submit his pieces to an unbiased editor.

2. Saletan On Dean
"Dean is far and away the most interesting player in the race. Not since Clinton have Democrats seen a talent like this."

3. That was then
and then he wrote the foreign policy piece. Where he called Dean arrogant due to his aid (who had a cast on his knee) showing up in shorts. Then he got really mean. Sorry you won't convince me that he likes Dean.

4. I feel the same about Fineman and Orin.
;)))) Of course, I'm no Saletan fan, either. He never did his homework in the first place, and then he blames Dean for HIS previous shoddy journalism.
