It's time to expose Karl Rove - NOW before the campaigns in full swing:

http://www.prospect.org/print-friendly/print/V14/2/reich-r.html

(Rove was involved in Nixon's and Bush 1's dirty tricks operations)

Keep everything under wraps.

The only other administration in living memory as secretive as this one was -- no surprise -- Richard Nixon's. Whether it's Dick Cheney's Energy Task Force, John Ashcroft's gag orders, the White House's anti-abortion strategy, its plan for gutting environmental protections and regulations, or its assault on civil liberties under the guise of homeland security, the public knows almost nothing about what's actually occurring. Leaks are rare. Information is parceled out carefully. Reporters who tell the story the way Rove would like it told (Bob Woodward) get special access. All others are kept in the dark.

-snip-

Rove also kept the attention focused on Lott and off the administration (Ashcroft's racist history as Missouri's attorney general, the administration's pending position on the Supreme Court case about affirmative action at the University of Michigan, Judge Charles Pickering's noisome record on civil rights and so on). Likewise, after Harvey Pitt dug himself into a hole at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Rove abruptly cut off his lifeline and pretended the White House had wanted vigorous regulation all along.
Karl Rove is calling the shots. Richard Nixon would be proud. The rest of us should be appalled.

1. I agree!
This guy should become a household name in America, indeed
around the world. He has perpetrated nothing less than crimes
against humanity. Think About it. The very shell of the
man in WH is a complete and total fraud and Liars, all of them
Liars. Your post brought out the rant in me. keep it going.
Peace Baby! We want our country back.

2. This is definitely BushCo's weak link......
the guy doesn't even have a facade of a good side.......

and Texas is where we go.

I was an active dem in Texas in the late 80's/early 90's. And his dirty tricks were legendary then!!! He single-handedly killed the career of several prominent progressives in Texas, and installed his evil candidates. Always by dirty tricks:

Jim Hightower (and this got Rick Perry into the whole game)
Lena Guerrero --

I think Rove's ONLY election failure ...and I could be wrong.....(sketchy memory here) was the gov election between Ann Richards and a really heinous west texas asshole named Clayton Williams. Richards won that one. Then Bush Jr. came along and took the gov's office.

We gotta go to Texas!!

Also.......Rove married a woman in DC, I think. His first wife - no kids. Her name is Valerie. Married 7/7/76 (CARTER YEARS); they moved to Texas......and divorced right before Reagan took office: 1/14/80.

THAT woman is no doubt a key to getting at WHO this bastard is.

I need someone to search the WASH DC marriage index to find her maiden name.

3. We really *do* need to organize a nationwide assault on this guy.....
And I mean getting REAL MONEY behind it.

Hollywood
George Saros
William Buffett

And get a spokesperson to head the project (Arriana Huffington? If she isn't going to run for governor).

And have a campaign --- day and night.....pounding the American public with the truth.

It might just work. Attack the weakest link. He seems powerful only because he has operated unhindered.

4. Definitely need to preempt his plans
Was talking with a Sears salesman (he liked my Dean shirt), and he said he thought they (the admin) was sitting on a bunch of info from Iraq, and they'd pull it out during the campaign.

Knowing these guys I wouldn't put it past them. We need to steal their thunder now, so that if an "October suprise" DOES happen, it won't be worth the paper it's printed on.

8. Rove the fixer
So that's where Rove honed his craft. Anyway, 2 thoughts. The first is that I read the article you linked to. Pretty good. But the suggestion that any other president who had a 58% approval rating (even if that was a huge drop) would be in danger of losing a job is, I think, incorrect. 58% is a pretty good approval number. I'll be happier if that keeps falling.

The second thought is about Florida. I admit I'm a little obsessed with the role Choicepoint had in that whole fiasco. I believed from the getgo that Rove directed Choicepoint to misidentify thousands of African Americans as felons so they couldn't vote. He knew his man was in trouble and he did whatever he had to do. The only person who has given Choicepoint ink is Jake Tapper in his book, "Down and Dirty. The plot to steal the Presidency". Rove needs to be called on the carpet, but no member of the mainstream press is going to do it and Smirky would never let anyone near him, I'm sure. But imagine if that did come to light! Bush would never make it to 2004. He's be back on the ranch (with Cheney!) and we'd be running against Dennis Hastert!
