1. Here it is from the Daily News
The Boss vs. The Prez

Could Bruce Springsteen be plotting to rain on the Republicans' campaign parade?

Democratic operatives are buzzing that the Boss has been talking about staging a free concert somewhere on Sept. 2, when President Bush is due to address the Republican National Convention.

Besides getting out the vote, Springsteen hopes to provide "counterprogramming to the message the Republicans will be broadcasting," says a source.

A spokeswoman for Springsteen would only say, "There are no confirmed Bruce shows for 2004."

2. I never got into Sprinsteen when I was a kid, I hated Born in the USA
because one of earliest political memories was Reagan using that song. Plus, I didn't get why girls my age were suppose to think that he was hot. Fast forward about 15 years and I liked the song Streets of Philidelphia. I thought that it was cool that he would lend his name and talents to a movie like Philidelphia. He got a lot better looking when I realised that he was not only a democrat, but that he publically dissed Reagan for using his song. Now I finally get it, he is an amazing person, beautiful on the inside and outside.

God, bless him.

I just hope that on September 2, somewhere on the news, I'll see him performing Born in the USA, and bashing W. I love him, love him, love him now.

:loveya:

3. That Born in the USA faux pas lives on!
Hard to believe they were so stupid in using that song. They obviously never listened to the lyrics for even a minute.

4. Yes Mel
he's a great man and my personal hero.Amazing that a 48 year old can still have a hero, but after meeting him a couple of times this past March,it reaffirms my artistic instincts.I gave him my card and told him to call if he needs even a hamburger at 4 in the morning.I also thanked him for all he's taught me over the last 30 years.

6. I liked a song here and there...
and then I heard the Tunnel of Love LP back in the 80s, and said, "hmmmm....I like this." The, I heard Nebraska and said, "Wow."

And when I found out how much he was against this administration and heard some of the songs that came out from The Rising, my admiration grew and grew.

He's one of the good ones.
