Just in from the Kucinich Campaign:
Dear Friend,

Thank you for proving the pundits wrong. They'd hoped our campaign
would just disappear.

But thanks to you, we have passed the $2 million mark in fundraising --
and we've grown stronger and more visible in state after state.

I want you to start us rolling toward the $3 million mark.

There have been grassroots progressive Democratic campaigns before --
Jesse Jackson in '88, Jerry Brown in '92, for example -- but none have raised the funds we've raised so early.

Thanks to your early money we have just tripled our campaign staff in
Iowa, the first caucus state. And on Sept. 1 in Iowa, the legendary
Willie Nelson will do the first of several benefit concerts for our
campaign. (Your support showed Willie we had a serious campaign going, and Willie's support may now attract the backing of other artists.)

Thank you for helping our campaign propel issue after issue into the
presidential debate that otherwise would be getting little focus --
including, to name a few, national health insurance for all; fair trade to replace the WTO and NAFTA; a peace dividend from cuts in our bloated military budget; a "Global Green Deal" for renewable energy to developing countries; and defense of medical marijuana.

Dozens of leading artists and activists have endorsed our campaign,
including Barbara Ehrenreich, Pete Seeger, Ben Cohen, Grace Paley,
Hector Elizondo, Tom Hayden, Arun Gandhi, Mimi Kennedy, Randy Hayes,
Ed Asner, Grace Lee Boggs, James Cromwell, Angela Gilliam, Marilyn
French, Studs Terkel and Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey.

I have just one request. Please share this email message with at least one friend, and get that friend involved in our campaign to reverse the direction of our country and put some "steel" in the Democratic Party (as I told the steelworkers local in Iowa.)

If you -- or your friend -- have the ability to give us a jumpstart
toward the $3 million mark, please help:

Sincerely,

Dennis J. Kucinich

I'll be planting my seed for $3 million with my August paycheck!

2. Here is something else we can all do.
Volunteers,

Tomorrow we will be sending out a Press Release and begin talking
to the media about our Seabiscuit campaign.

They will ask us how many cities and how many volunteers will be
out leafleting for Dennis. So again, we need your help -- rather
urgently -- to give us a reliable estimate.

If you are committed to distributing flyers after the Seabiscuit
movie, will you please do the following by 12:00 noon Central
Time:

Send an email to: [email protected]
Put Seabiscuit Promotion in the subject line and tell us
what city and state you will be working in and how many you
expect in your group (we only need one email from each organized
group)

Thank you for your support!
