Seattle/Tacoma Run Against Bush events!

There are many exciting Run Against Bush events in Seattle and Tacoma this week....

Special Event in Seattle:
On Monday, 8/30/04 through Thursday, 9/02/04, Run Against Bush members in Seattle will be conducting a relay run/walk and rally to protest the Republican National Convention. Each volunteer runner/walker will take a shift carrying the torch for the amount of time they've selected and then pass it off to the next person. By doing so, a continuous protest relay will occur during all convention hours.

The relay will be held from 6:00-9:00 pm on Monday, 8/30/04 through Thursday, 9/02/04. On Monday, there will be a rally from 6:30-7:30. These events will be held in Seward Park.

You can now RUN AND WALK AGAINST BUSH 3 NIGHTS A WEEK IN SEATTLE!!

Weekly Wednesday night runs -- Come out next Wednesday night in Kirkland- We are holding weekly Eastside runs on Wed nights. We are meeting at the Triple J Cafe at 101 Central Way in Kirkland at 6:30 (start running at 6:45). The phone # is 425-822-7319 if you need to call for directions. Come on out to help the Eastside crowd find out who we are. Just show up with your Run Against Bush t-shirt and be ready to join us for a relaxed run or walk!

Weekly Monday night runs -- If you can't make the Seward Park relay events this Monday night, come out for a JOG AGAINST BUSH (JAB) at 6:30 PM. This is a standing Monday night run). Meet at the Entrance to the Greenlake Community Pool for an informal run . Run Against Bush members will be wearing their shirts and ready to run. Runners of all levels are welcome. NEW EVENT!!! Weekly Thursday night Run/Walk Against Bush- A new group of Run Against Bush members has been meeting in Seward Park on Thursday nights at 6:30 at the Playground for both runs and walks. Our first couple RAB walks around Seward Park have been great successes! For more information contact Eileen at [email protected]

Upcoming September Events- Sept 18 is National Run Against Bush Day. We'll be participating in Seattle with afternoon run and BBQ picnic to follow. We'll meet at 2:00 pm at the Greenlake Pool for the run.

Tacoma Events:

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS at 6pm on the Tacoma Waterfront (Ruston Way). We'll meet in the parking lot of the Old Town Dock (in front of Johnny's) and go for about a 4 mile run. For more information, please contact [email protected] (mailto:[email protected])

THURSDAY NIGHTS, meet at 6 pm for a Waterfront Jog Against Bush. Meet outside of Katie Down's Restaurant! Please come out and help us get this run started. Distance and pace is up to you.
