Did anyone happen to see this earlier today?

I didn't but heard about it from my husband and want to know if anyone can give me more details, can correct any misinformation, or knows of a transcript...

Apparently some general (Sanchez??) was giving an update today and saying that troops that were SUPPOSED TO BE LEAVING this month are having their tour extended for an entire fucking YEAR ! When asked how the troops felt about it, he something along the lines of, "they are soldiers, they don't care."

I guess he also said some other crap that was pretty f***ed up. Anyway, my husband was at work and one of his NCO's immediately fired off a nasty email to FOX news. My husband left that hell (Iraq) two weeks ago. He is so depressed about all this happening lately, I wish I could be with him (we are separated temporarily due to our jobs). He says the soldiers in his platoon having been yelling everyday to vote Dubya out. They are livid .

and were scheduled to leave for home were staying longer...Don't know for how much longer though....

that Sanchez fellow is creepy. I think he thinks he is George Patton. Wants to make a name for himself. I have one but he wouldn't like it.

Rumsfeld raised the possibility yesterday that some U.S. troops scheduled to leave Iraq in the next few weeks might be kept in place to counter the mounting unrest. Many of the U.S. troops who died in the past week arrived only recently in Iraq, part of a rotation of forces that began earlier this year to replace war-weary veterans.

While plans have called for the U.S. troop level to drop to 115,000 by June, about 135,000 are now in Iraq as arrivals overlap with those due to leave...

Another senior defense official said later that no decision had been made to extend tours, which would break a Pentagon commitment to limit troop stays in Iraq to one year...
