A legal question for the Legal Eagles at DU
OK... In the past I've bought scalped tickets for sporting events with the premise that if bought a bottle of cheap wine for a hundred bucks the seller would give me a free ticket to the sporting event. Technically they were selling the wine not the ticket.

My wife recently went to a purse party where fake Coach bags, Kate Spade bags, etc were being sold and the way the did it was similar to my description above. But this time if you bought a small bottle of cheap perfume for eighty bucks , the purse was free.

Is this a legal way to get around the system?

Only if the wine were truly of the value that you paid for it. If you paid more than market value, you technically pay for the ticket with the overage.

Edit: Note, I am not a dirty lawyer.
