Question to those who volunteer w/ their local Dem party...?
Do you go to your "County Committee" office?

That's all I can find locally..is that where I want to go to?

I want to get involved, but I don't really know what I'm doing.

1. That's me! That's me!
(Click on the link in my .sig. I made that)

I just dug around, got the county chairman's home phone number and called him. He was glad to hear from me. He was gladder after the website went live. ;-)

2. yes.... usually the "central committee" is the local party...
i.e., the monthly Democratic Party meetings in our county are called Central Committee Meetings, but all are welcome. Go there and see what is going on in your county.

6. Okay, thanks!
"Committee" sounds so formal that I wanted to be sure I was going to call the right place. :)

4. Yep. And volunteering for the Party
is very satisfying and a lot of fun. I bust my butt being on the Central Committee and two sub-committees, but I love every minute of it.

7. I did an internet search for "Democrats" and "Rockwall County"
and got their Website.

Gave out everything I needed to know about attending breakfast meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

I've made lots of great friends, and in a town that's 85% Repug, I feel a lot more solidarity.

I was miserable when I first moved out here. Not anymore.

8. Oh you poor thing
I'm originally from Hunt County. My best friend has in-laws that still live in Rockwall County. I've never seen so many wannabes in my life as live in that place. It's scary.

I'm headed up that direction this weekend to see the parents. I'll wave on my way past. :-)

9. Thanks sweetie! I'll wave back!
Yep, it definitely took some getting used to after living in nice, eclectic Lakewood, but I love my house. Once I get my garden all established, I REALLY won't want to leave.
