5. After having raised quite a few

in my younger days, I can't say I have much patience with kittens any longer. I don't hate them at all--they're beautiful babies. But I've handraised several, and raised quite a few from kittenhood, and I can't say I miss the hyperactivity much at all. My youngest cat is now 9, so it's been a while since I've been subjected to a kitten running up my leg, trashing around the house (the adults do it often enough!) and requiring me to be on my toes more than I want to.

However, if I ever, ever get the inclination to have "a baby" again, rest assured it will be a feline and not a human.
