Sugar Land Texas....
Is where I now am. Any recs for a good, left-leaning coffee shop with good old left-leaning people in this area? In my old hometown, we had one called "Zocalo's".......miss the ambiance.

1. Oh dear, you moved to the wrong suburb if you want left leaning anything.
Home of Tom DeLay. Save yourself and get out now!

2. RUN AWAY!!!
 The good news is you're only two hours from Austin if you drive fast. And I'd advise driving very fast!

3. Sugarland is known for a rather large
Asian population.

I would seek out an Asian eatery. Vietnamese coffee is the BOMB!

4. I'm a big fan of Vietnamese coffee
You can pick up one or two of the little metal drippers at Asian markets for a few bucks. The method for making it is pretty simple. It's loaded with calories though, so it's not something most would want to drink every day.

5. Texas sucks for coffee shops
The Austin area is the best in the state for coffee, although most even there leaves something to be desired. Even the best coffee shops in Dallas are what I would consider marginal, at best. I haven't been to too many in the Houston area, but I wouldn't be too optimistic.

6. You are so close to Houston, so please check out the Montrose area.
Many sidewalk coffee shops and eateries and close to museums:
