I've noticed the Lounge posts have improved SIGNIFICANTLY since we were told how much we suck.

work. One of my pleasures is yelling at cars that go by - "SLOW DOWN! This is a neighborhood. This ain't no residential district!" (Richard Pryor), and "STAY OFF MY LAWN!". I pretty much only yell it at cars, but it keeps me entertained, especially if it isn't warm enough for my wife to wear short-shorts and a tight tank top - then I don't give a shit about the cars.

The lounge has become almost unreadable; I used to love to read about what other DUers were doing, or thinking about...light stuff...yes, there were a bunch of silly assed threads...always have been...but, now it's 90% crap.

I don't give that much of a damn; I think the discourse on DU has dropped pretty much all over, as the thoughtful posters leave, or are banned, or die...and the noisy idiots drown out the rest. Go look at the football threads in GD right now; there is one where almost every response post on my computer is "ignored."

it was my thread. I have explained it. The lounge has become nothing but ridiculous posts. Every now and then you can find someone's thread who is about to buy a house, did buy a house, get married, etc...something about DUer's lives where you could catch up with them..

Now? it's just crap. I am sorry, but it is...it's very rare to find a thread here that is about other DUers lives...just the day to day humanity.

I'll be glad to answer any questions you have for the next day, but if you intend to just slam me...well.. whatever.

Participated in the birth of Gareth, watched Will house hunt, watched a DUer's daughter sing on youtube, talked about our petsvacationsdinnersmoviesbooks, MFM's near death experiences, Kali's ranch, watched a house being built from the vacant land to finished, and more.... all of that just "ridiculous stuff" and "not personal enough".
