1. That was one sharp machete.

There was a mother/daughter team on BBC's "Last Restaurant Standing" a couple of years ago that tried to open a coconut by holding the coconut upright with one hand, then pricking it forcefully downward with the point of a huge chef's knife. That lack of common sense got them eliminated in the very first episode.

I have never tasted coconut milk out of a coconut. As a matter of fact, I don't believe I have ever seen a real WHOLE coconut in real life, even. With the milk still in there. I can only imagine...


I know it's one of the best things in the world to have, healthwise.

Anyway, at least now I know how to open one when I get my hands on one!

One of our best friends, sitter for daughters years ago, also taught us how to cut/open mangoes; said she'd climbed trees 'at home' and threw mangoes at passersby!
