I hate my boss
Absolutely cannot stand her. I am getting out as soon as I can but in the mean time I have to put up with her micromanaging bullshit.

How can we get everything done if she keeps piling stuff on? And the endless, useless Monday morning meeting. I know my job already, just let me fucking get on with it. I wasted an entire hour waiting for her to get off the phone so we could have our stupid meeting.

Now I am supposed to do a self-evaluation? A whole lot of stupid questions. They might not be so stupid but I actually do not give a rat's ass about my job. I do enough to meet the requirements so as not to get fired but beyond that I do not give a shit.

5. I empathize with you.
I had a boss like that for five years. In that time, I was planning for the day I could leave and open my own business.

The day finally came last June. I am now running my own academic services business (tutoring, writing classes and college admissions adviser). This was the best move I ever made. The only way to get through it is to have a light at the end of the tunnel, even if you have to create your own light. Otherwise, you eventually just give up and die a little on the inside.

8. Good for you.
I've had a couple of interviews in the last couple of weeks, one of which went very well. Still I haven't heard anything yet but that could be because it's a federal job so it may take longer than you would think it should.

Part of the problem is that she replaced someone we all loved as a boss. For whatever reason, they went with someone who is the near opposite of my old boss.

It seems like you're making your own light at the end of that proverbial tunnel. Keep going on those job interviews. And consider taking the first thing that comes along just to get you out of there. You can still look for a new job and jump ship when you've found the one that's right for you. But for now, you just have to get out.

6. I know that feel bro
I joined the company I work for now in a lesser position just for the opportunity to move up and in the interview I was promised all kinds of opportunity but a year into it my boss was such a dick that I was literally days from walking out. I was already lining up interviews and putting in for personal time off to go on them but the universe sometimes just takes care of a mofo and my asshole boss got fired and the guy who replaced him realized I was being underutilized and offered me the chance to to do things I wanted to do all along. I have now been here 11 years and couldn't be happier. I love what I do and my boss is exceptional and inspiring and lets me grow and learn while having fun. And I get paid pretty well too.

7. worked for a micromanager. helped a WHOLE lot when I developed
a full summary of all the projects I was working on, and reviewed it with her. the next time I was asked to do something else, I requested a meeting to ask what to put on the back burner. It helps if you ask advice constantly too. This trick works because after a while they get sick of you asking.

good luck

Not making a single decision without consulting her. That will drive anyone nuts. It's just evil enough to work.

10.  My boss pushed too hard, demands presion work, always critical of the work I do,
pushes completion times, and is a general asshat.

Then again I am self employed.
And have been married to my book keeper for 26 years!

16. If your boss's name is Ann, sorry she "fell" to you.
We got rid of her by kicking her up the stairs and then they eliminated the position!

She was a definite micromanager and was nicknamed "Ann of a Thousand Days."

Usually they micromanage so they can get a Big Job later proving how many people they can push around at will. But when the Big Job vanishes, the joke is on them!
