1. It does that to me too
It's especially irritating when I'm trying to look up something like NEPA and it gives me results for Nepal, or look up wedge-rumped storm petrel and it gives me results for skateboarding ramps.

I know how to type and I know how to spell and I know what I want. x(

2. This struggle goes on for at least 30 seconds with me. I should complain.

3. I googled the term "shoo shoo" yesterday & got links for "shoo" & "shoo in"

so then I googled "French translation for dud" & got links for "dude".

My husband had told me he thinks Hurricane Irene is going to be a "shoo shoo". His parents are of Acadian-French ancestry & that is a word they've always used for a dud or a washout.

4. I'm guessing it's "chou-chou," which is a diminutive term of endearment.
I'm guessing it has a sarcastic meaning. I could be wrong.

6. That's interesting, brickbat. I'll have to ask my husband.

5. Try this...
Go to Google.com.

On the upper right look for the little gear and click it. A menu appears. Select search settings. Scroll down the page and look for Google Instant. Select "Do not use Google Instant". Click Save Preferences.

It should work normally now.
