1. Human or otherwise.
I had some in planters one year on my front porch and the chipmunks kept eating the buds just as they started to open.

4. A few years ago the neighbor boy gave me a bouquet of flowers.
He was MAYBE five or six years old, and was playing with my daughter there at our house that day. Anyhow, he had a BIG old bunch of Daffodils and other flowers, and they were just lovely. They also, unfortunately, were out of the flower bed next door. My next door neighbor, Erna, took a lot of pride in her flowers and they were always so pretty--even when clutched by that little boy...

I was mortified. I made both kids go next door, knock on the door, and confess what they had done. Bless her heart, Erna just laughed and told the kids it was ok, then gave them both cookies for being so honest.

I was talking with the kids this last summer (teens now) and they both were laughing about the time they picked Erna's flowers and how scared they were to go tell her what they'd done, and how amazed they were that she gave them cookies instead of a raft of crap. We all miss Erna. She passed away, her husband went into a nursing home, and their house just sold

6. That would really piss me off!
Hope we have them at daughter's wedding in 2 weeks; had planned on it, but not sure if those plans changed or not.

11. I just told my neighbors that the deer living in a thicket on my property seemed
to be in their yard a lot

She said, "I know! There are two does and four fawns. They ate every one of my lilies this year! But I can't be mad! They're so cute! And the lilies will come back"
