23 yr old Honda has seen better days -- looking for replacement
Hi there,
My baby, my 1988 Honda Accord, is doing what she can but I don't know how long she is for this world. We've fixed her as much as we can, but now that we have less debt, we can take on more debt and get a new (or gently used car). This will be an around town car, and if necessary, take hubby to work for 80miles round trip.

Any suggestions? Yes, I would like this next car to last as long as 23 years -- even longer if possible.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

Paula

2. Another Honda! 23 years says to me they build great cars.
Our Honda (that we gave to our daughter now) is a 1999 with more than 200k miles and still runs great.

3. Replace the engine and transaxle with good used units imported from Japan.
Have the suspension and brakes serviced and there ya go. Unless rust is an issue.

Or another used Honda.

I like the Ford Focus. I have two of them.

4. I would psh for a union made American car, but I am not sure what that means
anymore.
We were thinking a Ford Fiesta(?) when our current car craps out, but I heard the other day they were made in Mexico.

Does anyone have a list of union made cars in the US?
