| 6. Yes--and smoking can mutate sperm. |
|
All this crap about "the woman" having to "live clean" well ahead of conception is only half the tale. If a sperm donor/father drinks, smokes and/or does drugs, it can affect the fetus negatively and is now an established factor when determining the source of birth defects.
The research on this is fairly new, but it's also pretty conclusive. The current thinking is that if a couple wants to conceive, both father and mother have to "live clean" for at least three months before conception to ensure a healthy fetus.
Most recently, they've found a connection between drunk daddies and a condition called IUGR, intrauterine growth restriction, where the placenta poops out before the fetus has matured--it can result in prematurity, or worse.

| 15. Stupid semantics - what kind of "drunk sperm"? |
|
Unborn babies shouldn't be drinking sperm - that's child molestation or something. Probably unborn babies shouldn't be drinking anything at all.
The mother drinking sperm has just about zero affect on the baby unless she tries to set bukkake world records, and even then isn't likely to do much - it's probably GRAS, though I don't think anyone has studied the effects of consumption of extremely large quantities.
Drunk sperm, like sober sperm, are unlikely to be able to harm a baby, unborn or otherwise, without the assistance of a larger creature. In addition, it's not exactly easy to get sperm drunk. They just don't have enough of a brain for the cortex to malfunction in the appropriate manner. On top of that, it's hard to imagine someone so macho that his sperm goes in, beats up and aborts the existing fetus, then gets you pregnant again.
If the sperm carries an STD, of course, all bets are off. Different STDs affect fetuses differently, depending on a lot of quasi-random stuff. And yes, you can get STDs from sucking, especially if you have a cavity, cut, abrasion, or sore in your mouth, or a sore throat.
