Swimming pool liability questions.
We are going to look at a house tomorrow that has a pool. We still have a 13-year-old at home who would undoubtedly spend her teen years with friends in the pool. I have this fear of one of them having accident or getting into the pool when they are not supposed to. What are the liability issues for homeowners if an accident happens in their pool?

1. Make sure you have a fence
I know that you have to have a fence around your backyard if you install a pool. That's about all I can think of. Just make sure you have the required safety gear around the pool, like a life jacket, and one of those donut flotation devices. After that, you should be pretty much covered.

2. I have a million dollar liability rider on my homeowners insurance
Costs about a hundred dollars a year. Its worth the peace of mind. Check with your agent about acquiring such coverage.
