1. It doesn't sound like it's enjoying it to me.
The poor thing sounds like it's scared shitless. Driving a car with an un-crated cat is one of the dumbest things you can do. What do you think is going to happen if that cat gets spooked, and darts down around the gas pedal and brake? Or hops up on the dashboard and obstructs your vision? PLEASE crate your cat when you take it in a car. Better for you, and I suspect your cat will appreciate it, too.
