3. Our hermaphrodite bunny was just slightly smaller than that when I brought him/her in.
We generally refer to him as a him, since that's the first part we found. He had absolutely no fears of people, dogs, or cats. No instincts except (fortunately) bathing himself. Cute little things, aren't they? Ours will be four on July 4th and he's a total cuddle.

7. Ah, he's just trying to impress Jessica Rabbit.
Nah, really, he's a good guy. I will say rabbits are really good swimmers, but it's a BABY BUNNY!!!

18. If I'm not mistaken, ALL mammals can swim.
And they all will, if they have to. Of course, some are better swimmers than others and a pool is exactly the kind of place that will kill a swimming mammal if they are too small to get out. They'll tire and drown as a result.

8. I have a question. (Raises hand.) What was this guy doing in a pool wearing rubber gloves?
Edited on Thu Jun-09-11 04:59 PM by Moondog
Are we to believe that he went and got and put on rubber gloves so he wouldn't have to touch the little bunny, while it was trying to tread water?

Or are we to believe that this photo is staged AND they dunked the little already almost drowned bunny to make for a better photo op?

Or was this dude already in the pool, doing something weird with the rubber gloves?

I'm sure there are other options, but I'm tapped out.

:wtf:

9. Oooh, good points!!
There's something weird about this story . . . *sniffs suspiciously*

(And I don't think that's his real chest hair, either. Humph.)

16. Stop picking on him. At least he saved the bunny.
He may have thought that the mommy would abandon the baby if his scent was on it, although I think this bunny is old enough to survive on its own----they are pretty little when mom says it is time to be on their own.

Let's just give the guy credit. Happy story!

20. Maybe he just didn't want to be bitten or scratched.
Edited on Thu Jun-09-11 10:05 PM by Brigid
Maybe when he saw the bunny, he had those gloves nearby and had the presence of mind to grab them in case the poor little thing panicked and tried to bite or scratch when he went to rescue her. You definitely wouldn't want that with a wild animal, even a cute little bunny.

17. A man who cared would have some escape ramps in that death trap of a pool
But I guess that doesn't work for self-aggrandizing photo ops, now does it? :)
