What is up with Bartcop's hex on Tiger Woods
Can somebody please explain to me why Bartcop gives a shit about golf in the first place? Then explain to me why he hates Tiger Woods?

1. bart
He probably is just tired of hearing his name on tv over and over and over. Seems to me like ol Bart watches a lot of tv in Oklahoma.

3. tiger's refusal to do the right thing
during the Augusta National refusal to admit women flap put bartcop in mind of Clarence Thomas using affirmative action to advance his career and then closing the door behind him.

Tiger should have refused to play as long as Augusta has discriminatory membership policies.

5. A few things
I remember Bartcop mentioning his dislike for Tiger for a few reasons, but especially a situation in which he declined visiting the White House whenever Clinton was President, that I don't remember the specifics of. Plus, I think that he believes Tiger to be overrated because he's mentioned that Tiger always gets hyped and then blows whatever the hype about him was. Also, perhaps because of his failure to take a stand regarding Augusta National...

Can't say I blame him; I find Tiger a bit annoying myself. "Golden boys" who are presented as if they can do no wrong, as I feel Tiger is presented, tend to rub me the wrong way. Don't know that I'd put a hex on him, though... haha

6. None of us are perfect
I've got my thing about unrepentent Greens being Bush enablers, Bartcop has his thing about Tiger Woods not being political enough, Tiger has his thing about not doing politics at all, etc. He's also in what for him is a slump. He's in his mid-20s, and he's not winning tons of tournaments. If you remember how difficult a game golf is, this is not unusual. Greg Norman, a truly great golfer hasn't ever won one of the four "major" tournaments (may have changed recently). Nicklaus won only 20 majors in 30 year career and was the most successful golfer ever, etc. I suspect that Tiger will become dominant in his 30s is a way that makes the Tiger of his 20s look only good by comparison. Remember over 100 start the field, and it is such a finciky game, anyone can come out the winner.

7. I seem to remember
Tiger declined an invatation to the White House to take part in a celebration honoring Jackie Robinson. It was (I think) 50 years since Mr. Robinson had intergrated major league baseball. Tiger felt that he would be soiled by setting foot in the Clinton Whitehouse.

9. There's an alternative view of that event...
..that being that PRes. Clinton failed to include Tiger on the first list of guests, only to reconsider and invite him later. Tiger still should not have been petty and gone, but I don't find anything showing that he felt he would be soiled by setting foot in the White House. To the contrary, Tiger and Pres. Clinton spoke on the occasion of Chelsea's acceptance into Stanford...
