After 10+ years my prodigal kitty comes home..
Around the time of Bush's selection, a long time relationship of mine ended. We had 5 kitties from the same litter. My ex and her mom kept 2, 1 went to a friend of my aunt's, and two went with me. I had a really hard time with my post break-up adjustment. I had to relocate and my new place would not let me keep my two kitties. A friend offered to take them in and I had to say goodbye.

Over the years my friend and I kind of lost touch until last Wednesday when she contacted me through Facebook and asked me if I could take back Silky. Her job now requires her to travel a lot and Silky is now 17 years old and needs more attention. Mini-Alley and I picked her up this afternoon and Silky has been moved in to her bedroom while she adjusts to her new home.

Silky's other litter mate, Moonie passed away last November. I have another opportunity to provide the proper care Silky needs for this last stage of her life. Our yard and neighborhood is very cat friendly. We already have two other cats, but since they let other cats, possums, and raccoons share their food, and space, I'm confident that they will adjust to Silky.

Having my cat back brings back a lot of memories, most good, some painful. I am honored I can keep my original obligation to care for my kitty, and hope she can stick around for a couple of more years. Maybe I can make it up to her for giving her away.

Here is a recent picture of Silky, born in Socorro, New Mexico - 1995

4. Hi Miss CP
Silky is exploring the house. Under her fur she is pretty thin. I'm not sure if that is from her age, or nutrition issues. We are going to treat her with advantage, do to some evidence of flea droppings in the base of her fur. Our cats don't want anything to do with her so far. Silky loves to be petted and groomed, so that is helping her transition.

6. No cry-cry Skittles
Things work out the way that they do. We can only decide how we choose to deal with stuff. I choose to make amends to my kitty. Though she is going to hate the upcoming vet visit.

7. Up date on Silky's birthdate.

The kitties were little babies when an annular eclipse passed over Socorro, New Mexico.

That was in May of 94. At that time the kitties were about 6-8 weeks old.

8. Any hint that she remembers you?
Poor Silky is probably still pretty confused about her new situation but it would be very cool if she sends a signal that she remembers you.

9. Aww, she's adorable.
I'm glad she has a good home.

I've got an 18 1/2 year old born in Nov. '92. We've had her since she was a tiny kitten. God how I love that little sweetheart. :loveya:
