"Bridesmaids" is hilarious!!!
Edited on Sun May-15-11 09:32 PM by Beaverhausen
There were several scenes that had the entire audience howling with laughter, and the whole thing is funny and also touching.

Go see it!

2. Rotten Tomatoes gave it an excellent score! Co-written by Kristen Wiig.

5. I'm glad that it did well in the box office too.
So often, the female audience is ignored and patronized by Hollywood and Hollywood films -- especially comedies. I hope that with Bridemaids' success we'll see an increase in the number of "quality" female-POV movies in the future.

Bridesmaids was the first movie in a long while to have me laugh out loud with tears in my eyes!

7. Hard to believe Kristen Wiig is actually capable of being funny but the reviews have been good.

8. Melissa McCarthy (Megan) = comedy gold
That woman is hilarious. I could not NOT laugh every time she spoke.

One of the things I noticed is that the women (except for Helen the trophy wife) did not look at all made up, movie-wise. There were quite a few scenes with shiny complexions, blemishes, uncoiffed hair -- you know, like women who live in the real world every day.

9. Does Kristen Wiig play an annoying character, like she does on SNL?
I can't stand her on SNL because every single character she plays is totally annoying, not the least bit funny. Makes me wonder if she's capable of playing anything but annoying.

14. Even her animated characters are annoying
I think the only thing I have ever liked out of her was in Despicable Me, when she got all googly-eyed after Gru told her in Spanish she had a face like a donkey.

I just think it will be a hoot. It looks great. And KW, MR and MM are very talented actresses.

13. You are smart to wait. There were many times where dialogue was missed due to audience laughter
