1. My doctor tells me the same thing. But.....
the lower limit of the weight he wants me to be at is a below the weight I was at when my life spun out of control and stress caused a lot of weight loss. At that time, I was so thin that my doctor threatened to hospitalize me to force me to eat. Many of my body functions shut down or were close to it. Sorry, but every individual is not the same, and those charts are not "one size fits all".

With that said, I will agree that I could lose some weight. But I would never wish to be at the lower or middle spot on that chart again.

2. They expect everybody to look like toothpicks
Anyone with meat on their bones is automatically overweight.

I don't know about you, but I could never be the insurance companies' one-size-fits-all idea of "ideal weight", no matter how much weight I lose. My bones are too large.

3. Big bones.
The chart I was looking at had three different tables, depending on if you are small-framed, medium-framed, or large-framed. I'm only 12 pounds above the upper limit for large-framed, and I'll admit to being overweight by around that much.

But here's the thing. I don't think I'm large-framed at all, that's why I went with the medium-framed numbers.

If you ask me, those charts are completely bogus.
