Strange Theft Of Parking Stops Confuses Police, Victim

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Why would someone want to steal 30 concrete parking stops that each weigh 250 pounds? The bizarre theft has a Kansas City, Kan., business owner and police confused.

The thieves were caught on surveillance video as they took the parking stops from the parking lot of Peak at Home over the weekend. At first, Peak at Home owner Chuck Duckworth said no one noticed.

"Everybody in the room was laughing," Duckworth said. "Why would someone take something like this?"

The stops are extremely heavy and only worth $25 a piece.

1. Why would someone take them?
30 stops @ $25? A quick (but not so easy) $750.

A nice bit of change for someone who needs it.
