Apartment life; gotta love it.
Police presence, three to six patrol cars
in the parking spaces for five hours, so far.
One car towed away;
Officers just now entered the apartment
directly above ours.

Son says, "I knew they were trouble."

I said, "I didn't even notice they had moved in."

Meanwhile, here's a short {1:29} youtube video from my
back yard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0ua2KhRMA8

2. one time, years ago
the youngest and a friend "prank" called the FREAKING 911. They were messing around in the back room and all of the sudden decided to go on a hike. About 5 minutes later I get a call from the sheriff's office advising to have husband come to the door with his hands in sight - a deputy was coming down our "driveway" right now. (that is a 2 mile rough dirt road, dispatch didn't know that) when we got it straightened out those boys were WAY more afraid of us than the cops, but as we all confronted them there was a lot of desperate attempts by the adults to NOT crack up.

those little bastids.

3. I was night manager of a big live rock and roll bar in Michigan.
.
.
.
I had ridden my motorcycle to work that day and my lights had conked out.
I was going to ride home behind the car of the last waitress at the bar.
.
.
.
We locked up and I went to get my bike from the storage shed behind the bar.
When I came back out, the waitress said the police had just driven by REALLY
slowly. "They're comin' back, I betcha."
.
I decided to store the bike in the shed for the night and pick it up in the
daytime. By the time I got back to the car, the police car was back. One solo
female cop. Asked for an explanation and some ID. Explanation was EASY, but
the only ID I had was my expired military ID. She accepted it, told us to be
careful and left.
.
About two miles from the bar, red and blue flashers come on behind us. We pull
into a Dunkin Donuts parking lot and I get out of the car. About SIX police
cars come screaming into the lot... they all jump out and approach me with
shotguns... fucking SHOTGUNS leveled at me.
.
The original cop says she needs some more ID. I'm looking through my wallet --
actually pretty calm -- and find a check stub with my soc sec # on it. She
calls it in and clears me. Turned out someone with my same name was wanted in
Michigan for multiple murders during an armed bank robbery.
.
.
.
Although I was outwardly calm, fortunately everything... EVERYTHING had
puckered up REAL good.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Have you ever looked down the barrels of a shotgun pointed at you by a very
nervous, scared cop?
.
.
.
.
.
I'm probably under-exaggerating a little bit here... but it looks something like this:
