4. After you took your entertaining posting away, I decided to go to the karaoke club.

5. I hate hate hate fucking DETEST karaoke... and one time I went to my local bar...
.
.
.
...forgetting it was karaoke night.
.
.
.
I was going to pretty much slam my beer and escape, but this young Japanese
businessman got up on stage. There were 4 entry-level American businessmen
who were taking 4 entry-level Japanese businessmen out for a night on the
town in the limo out front.
.
.
.
I didn't drink quickly enough. He burst out with "Born to be Wild".
.
.
.
He was SO loud... and his timing was SO bad... and he was SO off-key... but
so "I don't give a damn, I'm having a fucking BLAST" that he was just plain
INCREDIBLE!!!!!
.
The crowd started out by laughing uproariously at him... but then got caught
up by his enthusiasm and were shouting for "MORE-MORE-MORE-MORE-MORE"
each time it looked like he was going to quit.
.
.
.
I stayed for the rest of his "set" and probably would have gone back each
and every week if he were going to be a regular.
.

6. I've never sang karaoke in public but I've done it with friends. If it had been popular
when I was single I know I would have done it after a few drinks!

If you've never seen the movie "Duets", I highly recommend it. I had no idea there were serious karoke singers who traveled the country to make money in contests until I saw that movie. Paul Giamatti was in it & I loved him so much in Howard Stern's "Private Parts" I wanted to see him in "Duets". He didn't disappoint -- he's what made it so funny.

7. My hubby goes to Japan on business a lot, so sings a LOT of Japanese karaoke.
He's very popular because he's not shy about taking off his necktie and wearing it around his head, a staple of drunken Japanese business attire as I understand. I haven't heard him, but I imagine he's as long on enthusiasm and short on pitch as your guy, and that makes him much loved.

Btw all his business associates are okay but there are some harrowing stories.
