9. When my nephew was about 5 or so, he got a He-Man sword.

.
He was a sweet, soft-spoken child but when he raised that sword and bellowed, HE-MAN!!!!,
you wouldn't think that sound could come out of anybody smaller than Andre the Giant.

14. They also have a slightly powered down version for the smaller folk
The one I posted is actually pretty heavy and at least so far appears quite sturdy and durable. No bending plastic floppy ruined forever curshing dissapointmentness with these babies. And after a visit to my home, at least one of my friends may never have children now. May be for the best, all things considered.

Anyhow, if you love your son, you will make sure that he does not have to grow up deprived of such a thing, Reliant on hollow plastic swords of disappointment, dreaming of using a nice solid stick, but knowing that it could hurt people and get him in trouble and never quite daring to really fully go at it while any reminiscent fringe of parental supervision remains at the back of the mind.

My parents apparently didn't love me enough to defy the laws of continuity and get me a product that didn't exist yet

Look how I turned out.

Fortunately my wife loves me. And now I have two such swords of awesomeness, and a slight concern that the neighbors may misunderstand and call the cops if I charge into the front yard, throw a visiting friend a sword and attack mercilessly, trading the advantage of a nice long wingspan for the disadvantage of being a very large target and trusting fate to determine the victor...
