I just got a sucky job
working in a gas station/party store. 50 cents over minimum wage. Yeehaw.

Retired 9 years ago and I'm so bored I had to find something to do besides all of volunteer work I've been doing. This one will pay about the same.

But,

I'll finally know what day of the week it is.

I can afford gas.

I'll get to see all kinds of drama from the kids I'll work with.

For 2 or 3 days a week i'll be at work for 8 hrs, so I won't be spending any money during those hours.

Most likely be on the third shift, so I'll finally have a night life.

Now I'll be paying a city income tax.

They give job benefits for part time people that I already have.

I love my new job and don't even start until Friday.

3. Thanks Peggy
As a condition on getting the job, I told them I won't be around the last week in March as I all ready had tickets for San Diego. They still wanted me. There was a long line of kids applying for the job and I can't believe they picked.

6. Wow. Someone you can trust...
...don't have to supervise to make sure they aren't playing with their phone or stealing things. I can totally see why they wanted you. Good luck in your new job! I hope you have a blast!

2. Something to keep you busy. And out of trouble. And off the streets.
So I guess it can't be bad.
Third shift, midnight shift? Graveyard shift? Well, yes, you will get plenty of drama there.

Decisions, decisions huh? How were you doing before this happening? I'm in a boat that seems similar. I'm just not ready to say no more college yet.

9. Glad you like it - you'll meet a lot of interesting people
Two dangers - hold ups and police stings. Just do whatever the people want. Give them everything in the store if that is what is needed to keep you safe. Watch out for selling beer to underage stings. Around here cops love to do that to gas convenience store clerks in the middle of the night when they are the only one working and the store is busy. Here it is instant arrest, hauled off to jail, loss of job and possible felony conviction. Card EVERYBODY!

Hubby did the same job for a while. He enjoyed it since he likes working nights, loves meeting new people, and liked the variety.
