Screwed by DirecTV - what are my options?
Been with them for 6.5 years now and have never, ever had an issue - I don't need an HD or DVR package - but I want to watch when I want to watch it. Was offered a special last fall to get all their premium channels and NFL Sunday ticket - no charge! I asked to make sure I could go back to my current package when the offer ended - I have no desire to pay over $100 a month for teevee.

So, offer ends and the package I had is no longer available. I'm given a comparable package with a $10/month credit - but it's missing about a dozen channels I watch - WGN for the Cubs/Bulls/Hawks, Oxygen, Sleuth, NatGeo. Stupid sales person told me the package they gave me had all those channels, but the took out a dozen, swapped in 10 others, raised the price and it's supposed to be a good deal - how lame is that?

So, I either pay to upgrade to what I want or chuck them completely. The only options I know of are Comcast (I'll never use those sorry bastards again!) or Dish - and I dislike them.

I know a number of you DUers have alternate solutions and I'd love to hear them - I don't want to give up TV as I love my sports and other shows, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna stick with the crooks @ DirecTV.

Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!
