Share your current strange crushes
Edited on Tue Jan-04-11 08:52 PM by nytemare
I start one of these goofy threads every so often, as I am attracted to strange people.

Now it is Steve Buscemi and the young Peter Lorre. Strange, I tell you.

And you, DU?

2. Steve Buscemi is amazing in Boardwalk Empire
I have always enjoyed him as an actor, but actually see him as a romantic figure in Boardwalk Empire.

How about Tim Roth for an unusual interest?

Especially since my attraction started after watching him as the swaggering know-it-all, Dr. Lightman in, Lie To Me?

I think I remember him most from Little Odessa: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110365/

I agree, he is one helluva an actor.

disturbing film. I remember watching him being interviewed on it. I had to search IMDB, it was making me batty.

8. I can imagine it is intense
Netflix has it on instant watch and it is now in my queue. It is described as Dark, Cerebral and Understated, all things I like, but I am going to have to wait to be in the mood for it.
Here is the blurb from Netflix:

After moving with his family from London to Devon, 15-year-old Tom (Freddie Cunliffe) discovers that his father (Ray Winstone) and 18-year-old sister, Jessie (Lara Belmont), have been silent partners in a secret pact, unbeknownst to his pregnant mother (Tilda Swinton). In his award-winning directorial debut, actor Tim Roth delivers a dark and disturbing family drama based on a novel by Alexander Stuart.

Great character actor. I like finding films where leading roles are given to actors who normally play supporting roles, such as The Visitor with Richard Jenkins. Those films are true gems.

11. I have a crush on Fantastic Mr. Fox!

I thought they would ruin this movie but Wes Anderson created a masterpiece. I mean the book wasn't that long but how Anderson filled it out was genius - it remained true to the original plot but enhanced.

And something about a Fox with the voice of George Clooney - Wowza!!!!

31. I'm not sure - I guess you can call mine strange..
because I like a cute kind of prettiness more than the traditional kind. But for me, none of the big crushes deviate much from what I like, and there are no known Repukes.

Here's my current biggest crush list:

Actresses:

Alyssa Milano (known liberal/Democrat)
Natalie Portman (known liberal/Democrat)
Jennifer Connelly (known liberal/Democrat)
Kaley Cuoco
Zooey Deschanel (known liberal/Democrat)
Amber Tamblyn (known liberal/Democrat)
Sharon Case (plays Sharon on Young And The Restless) (supported Obama)
Adrienne Frantz (plays Amber on B&B) (known liberal/Democrat)
Olivia Wilde (definitely quite progressive - gets big points)
Elizabeth Hendrickson (plays Chloe on Y&R)
Alison Lohman (known liberal/Democrat)
Salma Hayek
Minka Kelly
Yvonne Zima (plays Daisy on Y&R)

HM: Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart, Thandie Newton, Emma Stone, Candice Accola, Marnie
Schulenburg, Amanda Seyfried

Singers:

Alison Sudol (#1 crush right now - known Obama supporter; seems to be liberal even though she likes Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead. Odd combo., but she's on the right side from what I've seen)
Kelly Ogden (definitely liberal as her band was started out of fear Bush would end the world)
Andrea Corr
Michelle Branch
Joanna Pacitti (speaks positively about the President on Twitter when I see her comment on such things)
Matisse (good liberal - often bashes Beck and Repukes on her Twitter)

HM: Ingrid Michaelson, Cassadee Pope (assumed liberal since she likes a pop/punk band because of their liberal leanings), Bree Sharp (yep, liberal)

Other:

Kris Williams from GhostHunters (big supporter of the armed forces, but seems ok when she speaks out on politics)

Even Mrs. gratuitous realizes that she doesn't stand a chance against her, and has come to terms with the fact that when Teri shows up on my doorstep, I'm walking forever. I'm sure it's only a matter of time, even after more than 40 years. I am a patient man.
