How come Arizona's DOT got the plows out ASAP

1. It takes more than snowplows

You also need a fleet of tow trucks in NY.

Clear a few yards of snow, then stop to pull a car or truck out of the street.

It's a slow process.

Some years ago, it took a week to clear the freeway between Detroit and Toledo. Just because of the abandoned vehicles.

What boggles my mind is that apparently New York clears the residential side streets. Detroit usually doesn't bother. Too expensive. Driving in the ruts is like steering a cable car.

There isn't alot of parking on the streets in No AZ.

But Bloomberg still dropped the ball.

He could have gone on about the heroic street clearing efforts of the valiant workers, and the fact that such a snowstorm takes time to clean up, that nobody could do more. And he could have had a day's worth of beard and been wearing a parka. And sympathized with those who suffered, those who lost loved ones.

Instead, he looks like a million bucks (or a billion), and lectures and scolds his populace, and casts blame.

He could'a been a Guiliani, instead of just a bum.
