of course, I get both doxies. ;)

Our youngest son wasn't too thrilled when someone suggested that Harley the hedgehog sleep with him, lol. Thankfully, she has her own hot water bottle wrapped in fleece for the night. The chinnies have their fleece tubes and the beardie will hide somewhere (his room is fairly warm anyway as we don't want him to hibernate). The 85 lb. lab goes with the boy in the coldest room.

1. I think I would put all the peoples in one bed, or one room.
Slumber party.

2. My doxie is a wonderful heating pad!
My husband and I have a dual-control mattress pad, but I haven't had to turn mine on yet because of the furry snuggle-bug. :loveya:

5. They're great for that, aren't they?
There was one on either side of me (one in the middle) so we stayed nice and toasty. We're in NE FL and don't have flannel or heated bedding, so were trying to make do with the warm bodies we had in the house.

15. Teacup chihuahuas are like that, hot little things.
Our son got divorced and we ended up with two granddogs. They hate the cold. Today I had to use a logging chain to drag them outside, so they would take a dump.

23. Too cute!
Those dogs don't have much bodyfat to keep them warm, either. Both our doxies are a little chubby so they can handle 15 minutes, unless the wind is blowing and then they dump and run. ;)

24. These two guys love to get under the covers with us.
Especially just after they go outside to take their morning dump around daylight. Then it's epic snuggling. They're better than any heating pad.

4. lol, nobody ever sleeps outside.
All of the pets are indoor pets, anyway.

We all stayed warm here in NE FL. It was a 2-dog night. ;)

7. The Siberian Husky is sleeping indoors tonight it's so cold out
He's not too unhappy about it and quit whining after I put the dogs out one last time - for him it wasn't so much the cold as the rain. The whippet is at the bottom of our bed under the covers and the greyhound is lying between my husband and I on top on the covers, but with a blanket over her. The rats we moved in off the back porch to my daughter's room. They are happy but she is not. But she sleeps very soundly so the little rat squabbles that break out from time to time won't bother her in the least.

12. Do you rescue your greyhounds and whippets?
There are several tracks not far from here (ugh!) and the rescue agencies are very active. We've had a number of friends and neighbors who have taken them in, and dh's grandmother when she was still living adopted one as well. I love the greyhound! Gentle as can be, and surprisingly enough all the ones I've met so far did fine with kitties. Aren't whippets a bit timid? I love their long, sleek look and skinny tail. I'm quite partial to very short-haired dogs (although my lab can out-shed a long-haired kitty any day of the week!).

Rats are noisy, right? That's one thing we've not done yet.

18. Actually the grey and the Siberian are adopted,
while the whippet we bought at a pet store. He is from one of those puppy mills in the mid-west so I kind of figure we rescued him. We used to have 2 other dogs - another greyhound and another whippet and both of them were adopted as well. So it the kidlet, but that's another story. Both our grey and our whippet have high prey drive and wouldn't do well with cats, but the male grey we had would have been fine with one. It's all a matter of the dog's personality and temperment. The whippet we have is a bit spooky and we aren't sure why since we had him from a very young puppy. Our other whippet wasn't afraid of anything except perhaps not getting his preferred spot in bed with us.

The rats are noisy only sometimes. The 4 I have get into what my husband calls rat bitch fights. It's about, believe it or not, who is going to groom who. The problem is that they are nocturnal, so this is going on while you are trying to sleep. It's one reason we put them in the kid's room. That child can sleep through just about anything.

Definitely a three-cat night in Chicago. Alas, I only have one. But we'll make do.

22. No, only for decorative purposes...
and since we're only into function we don't have but multiple blankets for layering. When we first moved down here we got rid of all those things and really haven't need much.
