6. That's the one I most want to see
I don't remember it first time round either.

But I want to know what the name for that type of collar is.

Elephant collars? I remember elephant bells, so this would kind of work - it looks vaguely like elephant ears

11. "Futuristic" costumes from a '50s "B" sci-fi movie.
That shirt uses 2-foot long collar stays.

3. Back in junior high, I had a burnt orange Nehru jacket...

.
.
.
...but, fortunately for me... MiddleFingerMomSis stole it and took
it with her back to college -- else I might STILL be embarrassing
myself with it to this very day.

19. That one IS, actually... pretty cool... and The Beatles used to wear really cool ones...
.
.
.
.
.
...but mine was a solid-color burnt orange -- the color of 1960's appliances
and shag carpeting.
.
.
.
Pretty gruesome outside of its era.
.
.
.
Maybe pretty gruesome even for back then, but we weren't paying attention. It was the 60's.

4. Is this the 70s?
If so, the fashion really sucked.

5. Just because it was the seventies, it did not mean that
all the men ran around dressed like pimps. Most of those items are pretty extreme. The men I knew who worked in offices and stores did not look like that. Their shirts had long collars, and they wore bell bottoms. But I don't recall seeing many of those stupid shoes. There were some plaid pants, but not as many as the ads would have you believe.

Is it any worse than today's baggy pants that fall down and show off some idiot's underwear? Is it really any worse than some of the oversized sports jerseys and ridiculous baseball caps worn sideways? Men are always laughing at women's fashion. But I see plenty of men who dress like fools.

Do you like your quasi-futuristic clothes Mr. Powers? I designed them myself.

15. If there is a god, Please no, not again.
I'm in my 60's now and I don't think my body could survive the laughter. Or I might go berserk and beat someone to death with my cane at the sight of green/yellow plaid pants with a purple/something striped shirt. What do you think? Not guilty by reason of temporary insanity.

16. We just sold our cottage from the 1960s. The fabric pattern in one of the bedrooms
had flowers on it the size of pizzas. I was sure if we kept it long enough chintz like that would come back into style. Alas. It is sold.

18. The family in the striped sleepwear! Holy cow I _remember_ that ad. Just barely but I do. And yeah
I think I has one of the little ruffly striped nightgowns when I was a tot.

20. Trivia about Commissioner Gordon on Batman:
His name was Neil Hamilton and he was a model in the 1920s.

He was the ORIGINAL Arrow Shirt Man, but I have not been able to find any pictures of him from the 1920s on GIS.

Yes I remember the burnt orange, the avocado green and the gold. In fact, in my house, my grandma put in gold sculptured shag carpet in the back bedroom. However, it's rotten and full of sandburs and I need to rip it out.

I had a burnt orange sofa and it is 8-1/2 feet long and has a good frame. Got the upholsterer to redo it, new cushions and everything. Now it is a dark blue very short cut velvet with a sine wave pattern. I also got my leather recliner done in the dark blue. I like it. I hate brown and yellow and beige and other dirtlike colors.
