of a few people who will never post an OP that I care about. However, I find that even those posters occasionally say something interesting as replies in other threads...

I've never felt the need to put anyone on ignore, but there are a lot of one trick ponies here, and others that I am familiar enough with to know that they will be a waste of my time. Someday they might still have something valuable to contribute though, so I'm not going to block them.

14. I rarely even look at the names.

I usually read threads without looking at the names, even in the Lounge, so I don't know who is posting something until I've read the post. Sometimes I even reply without realizing I'm replying to a friend, then I have to reread the post to make sure it's not too obvious I didn't know I was talking to them.

And of course there are people I reply to who follow up with "Of course you would say that," or "I would have guessed that was your opinion," when I have no recollection of ever talking to them before. :)

So, no, it's rare that I avoid a post because of the poster, although I have a few people on ignore because their posts routinely push the wrong buttons with me. Usually it's more because of pretension than fluff, though. If it's fluff, I just rarely read past the thread title, so I don't even know who is posting it. With some exceptions.

I love that DU is this big. The names are like labels on drawers, because, yes, people tend to be pretty consistent in their posting styles. I know if I pick that one, I'm likely to get sly, dark humor. That one will probably reveal something light and sweet. That one's good for thought and maybe something new and strange. That one is...well...just a view from another dimension. :rofl:

New names are the most fun, because opening them is like opening a brand new present. :loveya:

like others - a good subject line will grab me before a name even gets noticed. I have never used ignore, although I have one admin issued and a couple strange "requested forced ignores" by two other users who I never had a problem with and am not even sure WTF that was all about, but whatever...I have always liked the variety here and the only thing that ever really got to me was mean shit to people who were sensitive and whining about resultant discipline. Fluff is fine, especially for the lounge:rofl:
