3. Great opening episode.
This evening I checked out my local bookstore for the Walking Dead graphic novels. Flipping through the first volume, I realized that the show followed the printed version very closely. I'm just going to watch the series and try not to "look ahead".

BTW: I clicked on the link, I hope that gave you points.

I never saw the graphic novel. I bet I'd love it. I'm sure my dad has it. He collects graphic novels, comic books, movie memorabilia (cult, camp, sf and horror) and movies.

7. I was actually going to ask about that
is that the original graphic novel I saw in my local Borders, or was that a new one based on the TV show? It was pretty close.

6. We only watch a couple of shows...
...but we always watch them late because of work, family, other activities. We also love our DVR.

My assistant at work has been waiting for me to see the first episode so we can finally talk about it.

Thanks for clicking.

13. Very scary.....
I kept having to turn the station.

However, I was disappointed in the blantant ripoff of the opening scene: Guy wakes up in hosptial to seemingly empty world. Uh, '28 Days Later' did that already. Unless '28 Days' got it from the graphic novel?

Also, the movie '28 Days Later' came out in 2002. 'The Walking Dead' graphic novel series started in 2003.

17. But Kirkman said he had been writing it for a awhile.
I don't know if that's true but it's not out of this world that two people or groups came up with the same idea at roughly the same time.

In 2007, 28 Weeks Later, Planet Terror and World War Z all had a helicopter zombie chopping action scenes.

22. I was reading the zombie apocalypse wikipedia entry
the other day... it said that the zombie apocalypse is usually not explained - it just happens or has already happened.

I don't recall it being explained in Night of the Living Dead or Day of the Dead? I know it is explained in I Am Legend and 28 Days Later.
