Your favorite kid's movies from the 1980s?

1.) Monster Squad ("it's the scary German guy! Aahhhhhh!")

2.) Adventures in Babysitting (Because I was about the same age as the little girl when this came out, and I had the same relationship with my big brother. Actually same goes for Monster Squad as well.)

The characters were very contrived but the movie is pure fun and adventure. Plus, it had Chunk. Loved that kid.

I love the innocence and goodness of this movie. I watched it recently and the end made me cry, it was so sweet.

2. Flight of the Navigator

oops - why: I like the actor, and the spaceship effects, and the story!

Labyrinth - what's not to like?! Bowie, muppets, songs, effects...

The one with the kids that make a spaceship out of a trashcan (I'm so bad at remembering movie titles!) - I like the campiness of this one

That episode (weren't there only like four) where they were in the haunted house with the wheel chair was scary as hell.

Same with that episode of Real American Hero with the haunted house and the beast from another dimension.

I was reading Poe and King at like 8 or 9, so maybe I just have a high tolerance for fear. :)

I had no idea there were so few episodes though... interesting. Don't remember the Real American Hero... now I'm curious!

17. It was a science show, IIRC

Targeted at older kids - maybe 9 to 13 or thereabouts (older than Zoom, anyway). They showed educational clips / skits. I liked it very much.

20. For some reason my dad thought

Weekend at Bernies was a great movie for a kid to watch.

I actually liked it! Though I was kind of disturbed by it.

However, my mom never forgave him!
