I used to work for a literacy organization based out of Houston and I had to travel there constantly, right after Enron imploded and seemingly took all life in downtown with it.

God, was that a depressing shithole. Other than the Angelika moviehouse and the Aquarium I never found a reason to leave my room at the hotel. I went to the Galleria but it was mostly empty...on a Saturday.

I'm hoping the city has gotten nice again.
