4. How entertaining!
Crossing the Rubicon
Simplifying the case against Dick Cheney

by
Michael Kane

January 18, 2005 (FTW) - In an argument of over 600 pages and 1,000 footnotes, Crossing the Rubicon makes the case for official complicity within the U.S. government and names Dick Cheney as the prime suspect in the crimes of 9/11. Since the publication of this book (to which I had the privilege of contributing a chapter), many people have asked to hear the case against Cheney argued "short & sweet."

5. Rubicon is of course CONSPIRACY! Why did the MODS move this here????
Actually the founders thought that there should be provision for a conspiracy between

President and VP -- somewhere I have something on that -- they advocated SUSPENSION

of the administration in that event!

Meanwhile, this should be in 9/11 -- NOT LOUNGE!!

8. All I had to do was type "rubicon" into google
to discover what this movie was all about and that the forum you originally posted it to was appropriate.

Apparently that was too much to do for the "alert gang" before they started mashing down on the mod button.

9. Which Founders? When was that ever proposed?
This makes me curious. I've studied the crafting and debates over the Constitution quite a bit, but not what you'd call extensively. Still, I've never heard of any suggestion from the 1780s or 90s for a constitutional process for suspending an administration, other than impeachment of an individual office holder. I'd appreciate any other information you have on this.

As a foot note, I hope whispering "This is a big fuckin' deal" doesn't meet the legal test of conspiracy.

12. I have a paragraph or so on that .... I'll look for it ---
I don't think "Rubicon" is a BFD ... have no idea what it is ...

that's why I'm asking for opinions --

Is it an Agatha Christie gone 1984 -- or is it someone trying to tell us something?

13. Here's what I have on conspiracy between Pres and VP ...and suspension of administration....
Think this had to do with assassination investigations/Watergate --

QUOTE . . .

From Judiciary In '74-
"
If The President Be Connected In Any
Suspicious Manner With Any Person..."
The following is from a report written and released by
the Judiciary Committee in 1974 in the aftermath of the Watergate
crisis.

In the (Constitutional) convention George Mason argued that the
President might use his pardoning power to "pardon crimes which were advised
by himself" or, before indictment or conviction, "to stop inquiry and
prevent detection." James Madison responded:

If the President be connected, in any suspicious manner, with any
person, and there be grounds to believe he will shelter him, the House of
Representatives can impeach him; they can remove him if found guilty...

....................

Madison went on to say contrary to his position in the Philadelphia
convention, that the President could be suspended when suspected, and his
powers would devolve on the Vice President, who could likewise be
suspended until impeached and convicted, if he were also suspected.

14. Any thoughts on what its current meaning may be ... was encouraged ...
Edited on Wed Sep-22-10 11:13 AM by defendandprotect
that there still seems to be "no honesty among thieves" --

If we reflect on corporates/elites, we can see that they finally destroy one

another in the end --

but, sadly, us -- as well!

PS: Just as an after thought, think it's interesting that "Kale" is a homosexual ....

and in the intelligence business!! Progress!!

But, seems also to be a very bad guy with "blood on his hands" -- hmmm.....!!

10. Man, I tried to follow it, but it was just boring & arcane.
I love Mad Men, so I had high hopes for Rubicon. But they just don't blow up shit on that show and the protag looks too much like Art Garfunkel for me to take seriously.

15. Funny . . . see what you mean about "Will" and Art Gunfunkel !!!
I love Mad Men too --

The drinking in most businesses at that time was amazing!!

Re Rubicon -- think it will turn out to be just a grandiose "Agatha Christie" ...

but since I watch MM anyway, I'm staying tuned in!

trying to tell us something???

Are you watching Mad Men?
