Fish and Old Maid as a youngster, then low-stakes poker (quarter limit) in my
adolescence, Hearts, then Spades as an adult.
.
.
.
When and where I grew up (Michigan), the big game was euchre. Played a coupla
times... never caught on.

.
.
What surprised me greatly was that, in the Army, despite all the movies to the
contrary, the big game by FAR was not poker, but Spades. And Risk. Weekend-long
marathon games of Risk, sometimes with enough players to place several boards
side-by-side for a "Battle of the Solar System".
.
"Kamchatka to Irkutsk, roll two!!!" still gives me a kick to say.

.
As a young married man (with other married couples)... Yahtzee.

What were YOUR games?

1. Lets see
Edited on Thu Sep-16-10 09:27 PM by carlyhippy
as a kid it was Old Maid, pick up sticks, crazy 8's

as a teenager I found video game arcades and there it was Missle Command, Moon Patrol, Galaga, QBert, some kind of tank game, can't remember the name. and Atari at home, Space Invaders, Asteroids, Breakout

As a young adult it was Nintendo...Super Mario Bros, Yoshi's Island, Zelda, Tetris. I remember us getting together with 2 other couples and playing Monopoly on the Nintendo, and we were cool, because we had a wireless joystick! ha.

Now I play games on Facebook like Farmtown, Yoville, Treasure Isle. I like to play dominoes, and when the family gets together we play Skipbo or Uno or trivial pursuit or pictionary.

2. I grew up in Ohio
and euchre was (and still is) the rage. Not many people where I am know how to play it, but I downloaded an app for it and get my fix that way.
