There is no doubt that I could have spent all of this time doing something else. But honestly, I have learned A LOT by being a part of this forum. I have learned a bit about my own left-leaning positions on certain issues by having to defend them and I have learned a great deal about how other people view those same issues, even when we disagree. Also, I think I have developed my writing skills quite a bit by just being here -- I certainly can type a lot faster now!

I don't consider all this to be time wasted -- on the contrary, I have grown a great deal. Besides, there are worse people to hang out with! :hi:

Seriously, I'm sorry that you ran into a "+1,000 bully" -- when I first joined I attracted a couple of them as well. Unfortunately, this forum does get its share of trolls and disruptors, so I guess it goes with the territory that new posters are viewed with a bit of suspicion until they "prove" themselves. I'm not saying that it's right, but that does seem to be the way of things around here. Just keep posting as you can, and please don't let those folks get to you.

I try not to get pissy at people as the internet is hard to understand people's intent. I just try to be nice even if they get annoying. I don't back down- but respect their space.

This is a big step for me. I've got alot of issues using the written word and to try a forum with the only contact is via writing is difficult. Everyday is just a bit easier than the last.
