Wow, my GF has gone feral
Edited on Thu Aug-05-10 12:45 AM by HEyHEY
Her niece is from a small village in Hennan and is in the big city for the first time with her aunt. My girlfriend is the studious type and wanted her to study English - the girl hasn't done it very enthusiastically.

I told her to be a cool aunt, so she called me last night....she was in the sleaziest part of town getting the 13-year-old hammered. This kid was finishing the beers before we were. They were in a bar that my friend once got battered with a bat in too, so I got them out as it's a bit rough.

For some odd reason, my lovely, gentle sweetheart was carrying a knife too.

I don't know what these two were planning, but I'm glad I stopped it.

2. yup
100 per cent. I assume she must always carry the knife. She's got a big bag, but I admit I was shocked that she was getting her niece wasted. Granted, the culture here is a bit different on that front. I mean, shit my GF does shroomies with her mom and dad.

3. It's kind of disgusting to get a child drunk.
Send her home.

5. Some things are or should be universal.
Giving a child narcotics or booze is bad. I don't think you wouldn't be out of line to say that to your GF before she has the girl snorting coke off a mirror.

Is she trying to a "cool aunt"? Or or other reason?

6. I've seen people give seven-year-olds beer here
I think that she just got tired of trying to get the kid to study and said, "fuck it"

My GF won't be doing coke, she doesn't touch things like that. But, I think last night was a one off. She got a lil' carried away.

8. There's these homeless kids that hang around a place we drink at
Once I saw the proprietor grab a kid about 8 and pour beer into him laughing all the way then sent the kid on his way. Really bizarre place sometimes.

The don't drink like we do, so I suppose that's why they aren't as sensitive. My GF maybe goes out to the bar once every couple months, I'm there three times a week.

9. The proprietor is scum.
You or someone should report that place to the authorities.

10. Police saw the whole thing
Edited on Thu Aug-05-10 02:37 AM by HEyHEY
It's China, man. They don't give a shit. Sunday night I saw a guy get bottled over the head the cops were hanging out 40 feet away and did nothing. People here talk about the police being all hardcore, they aren't they are lazy as sin.

11. Hey Jake, it's Chinatown.
Cultural differences, different strokes, it's a small world, prime directive and all that.

12. When I was in Italy last year
the police presence there - especially in the airport, where you had men with machine guns all over the place - was far more oppressive than it was in China the two times I went there. And, Italy isn't exactly famous for its police.

Granted, you have other oppression in China that far outweighs anything in western Europe or north America... but, I don't recall any heavy handed police/military presence.

13. It's the same for a lot of European cities
It was their answer for dealing with terrorism and for whatever reason they haven't discontinued the practice. It may be a little unsettling for Americans to see a guy with a sub-machine gun right next to you at the airport, but for Europeans it's commonplace. I've seen young couples dry humping each other right next to the armed guards.

15. in lots of cultures around the world, kids are allowed to drink some

 it's really not that uncommon, and some people think it reduces the typical American tendency to think of alcohol as a big deal.

16. The keyword is "some".
The OP said getting the kid "hammered"

Would you let a 13 year-old niece get drunk in your presence?
