A la mode.

Unfortunately, I live in Georgia and I've been told that rhubarb can't grow in this climate.

2. really?? I figured rhubarb could grow anywhere
if it grows up north where it gets so cold, it should be able to grow down south. I like my rhubarb pie with strawberries mixed in with the rhumbarb, and LOTS of sugar ha. Good stuff.

6. It needs a cool climate
Spring temps around 40F to break dormancy. It'll start to wilt in temps over 80F. Where Mr. Ected lives, it's just too warm for too long. Even if it grew there, it'd be stringy and tasteless.

Strawberry/rhubarb pie -- food for the gods.

7. Hmmm. I first discovered it in the Ozarks.
Berryville, Ark., to be precise, just outside Eureka Springs.

I guess the winters up there are just cold enough (I only visited in summer).

8. Did a check of the average temperatures in that area.
Low: 35F, high: 80F, so probably nearing the southern end of its growing range.
