2. When I was about 10 years old...

i was swinging a paddle around trying to hit a ping pong ball. The paddle flew out of the plastic handle and whacked my mom in the eye and gave her a black eye. I thought I killed my mother. It scarred me for a long time.

Consider yourself lucky you don't have a black eye.

6. watching young girls play sports can be some of the most fun

hours of your life.
Some of my fondest memories are the 7th grade girls basketball games my girls played. You will never, ever see anything like it anywhere.

7. reminds me of the scene in Mean Girls

where one of the young ladies cannot catch a soccer-sized ball to save her life; the ball just keeps bouncing off her rather ample bosom. It is actually very very funny to watch, especially for those of us who have at times been incredibly uncoordinated. :D

Why shouldn't they enjoy it? They're kids: they're used to trying things they can't do with the confidence they'll be able later. They got some exercise; they got to spend some time together ...
