I haven't watched tv for 3 days, just stuff off the internet.
Just wanted to see if I could live without cable, yes I could.

I just need the high speed connection for the computers.

If it wasn't for the other people living here I would disconnect the cable.

3. With me it was Hurricane Ike, didn't miss the tv at all.
Almost everything I want is on the internet.

I like watching the tv shows I like when I have the time.

With Netflix and Hulu that is all I need.

2. i've never had cable, not once in my life
make "the other people living here" pay the cable bill if you're not using it, ha ha

actually at my house i guess we're all cheap because we just don't get it, the cable co. occasionally sends us nasty letters threatening to report us to the police if they can prove we're stealing cable, they just can't believe that regular average folks don't have cable, it's kinda funny

5. I only pay my share every month, it isn't that much.
I don't go out that much and I don't go to the movies.

4. I'm having my cable internet access turned off tomorrow
I'm going to leave basic cable on the TV. I don't watch it much, but when I do it's usually a cable channel.

I got mobile broadband for my laptop because I will be a long haul trucker here pretty soon. My computer is important to me not only for entertainment, but it's also an important tool. I don't have a desk top computer.

7. Like the texanwitch
I could easily do without cable as long as I have the internet but the other folks need their QVC (@70 bucks a month before purchases) ;). Any must see TV could be viewed online for me.

9. Me too...
With Netflix streaming and Hulu Plus, which will be ready soon, the cable boxes will be out the door at my house too. Why pay $140 per month when you only care about 5% of the content?

11. I have no cable, only free and over the air tv with about 12 channels.
When I had cable it was like "57 Channels and Nothin' On" and I was constantly channel surfing to find something better to watch. It seemed like I never saw a complete program because during a commercial I would check out another channel and forget about the first one until another commercial came on.

Now, with just 12 channels, there is always something to watch. Along with Netflix I watch my local tv channels for the news and weather as well as some network shows, most of them in high definition.

13. I only watch TV during football season
Except for Jeopardy!, of course. Rest of
the time, I'm on the 'net. SO, on the other
hand, watches quite a lot. We have cable
broadband. NICE!

:)
